Sparking Teen Research Interest for Diversity and Equity in Science
OUr Message
Who are we?

We are a group of high school students interested in scientific research. We are very lucky to go to a high school with an amazing research program that helps students learn about science, do science, and navigate the research world.
Why is high school research experience important?

Participating in research in high school can be a great benefit and experience for students who may wish to undergo a career in a science-related field in the future.
What is our mission?

Our school lacks racial diversity, and so does the scientific community at large. Therefore, our objective is to share the resources that have allowed us to become active members of the scientific community with the public so that funding becomes less of a barrier for entrance into science. We also want to initiate partnerships with high schools and middle schools that are under-resourced and are predominantly Black & Hispanic to mentor students who are interested in science. Creating diversity and leveling the playing field for underrepresented students who wish to participate in lab science is our objective, and we hope to attain that goal through our website and initiatives.
